This is the monster about 6 hours before landfall. It was a Category 5
in this photo. Note the well-defined eye wall. This storm was about 5
times larger than last year's Charley, which was also a Category 4
storm at landfall, and about 3 times larger than Ivan, which was a
Category 3.
